Personal Utopia: Designing Your Ideal Society

Utopia: Harmony Oasis

Introduction

Utopia, a state of imaginary community or society with ideal perfection. It often comes to the minds of human beings and becomes the living environment we yearn for. Undeniably, today's society is full of disputes, hence a peaceful and united place in the world is what we dream of. Now, let me share some ideas about the utopia in my imagination in the aspects of governance, education, healthcare, environment sustainability, and community life. (Attached here with my drawing)

Governance

In the utopia I envision, I hope that there is a democratic society. All of us, regardless of race and gender can have equal status, and leaders of the world are chosen based solely on their abilities, leadership, and the will of the people. In this world of equality, everyone has human rights and the freedom of speech, enabling them to boldly and bravely express their views on policies. This allows politicians to make the best changes and decisions, leading to a more prosperous and thriving nation. Other than that, there will be a policy on animal rights. This policy will give the right for animals to freely survive and live with humans without depriving them of their lives at will. 

Education

All citizens will receive equal access to thirteen years of compulsory education, at least graduating with a diploma, to enhance their knowledge before entering the workforce. Graduates from all regular secondary schools, including independent and international schools, will have the opportunity to study in public universities based on their academic performance and school conduct, rather than race. In the past, society often judged a person's character and job capability by their academic performance, which led to higher unemployment rates and hindered some people from securing better life opportunities. Therefore, in my utopia, equal opportunities will be given to all citizens, and job selection will no longer prioritize academic grades but will focus on character and job skills. Additionally, the nation will implement a lifelong learning policy, establishing schools for middle-aged and elderly people with various interests and subjects. 

Healthcare

In Malaysia, people often have to wait in line to receive treatment at public hospitals, causing some to miss the optimal time for treatment, which is very distressing. Thus, I hope that the healthcare system will adequately support everyone and have a high-quality medical infrastructure and equipment to ensure that anyone in need can receive timely medical care. Additionally, the country should invest more funds in the healthcare sector, providing more subsidies for the poor and those in need, ensuring that no one is denied treatment due to the inability to afford expensive medical fees. For example, those in need could apply for access to expensive, specialized medications. Furthermore, there will be no discrimination against patients seeing a psychologist. Anyone with psychological issues or in need of counseling could receive treatment from a psychologist without facing stigma.

Environmental Sustainability

First and foremost, people must have an awareness of environmental protection to ensure that our living environment remains unpolluted, clean, and safe. Recently, the ocean suffered extensive pollution due to nuclear wastewater, severely affecting marine life, and causing mutations or poisoning. Therefore, we must always protect the health of the Earth, not only because it is the only way to have an endless supply of natural resources, but also because a good environment is essential for sustaining human life for millennia. Additionally, the world's resources will be shared, and everyone will have equal access to resource allocation, regardless of nationality. Furthermore, there will be higher subsidies for water and electricity bills, alleviating this concern for the people. Of course, everyone must have the consciousness to save electrical and water resources.

Community Life

My utopia provides a sanctuary for everyone's soul, a comfortable and free society. Everyone can participate in different activities according to their interests without facing judgment. They can immerse themselves in their passions. Each interest area has its own social circle, with infrastructure and equipment, where everyone can be their authentic selves and have fun. Besides, in this society, there is no presence of evil forces or the darkness of humanity. As long as no one’s life or interests are harmed, everyone lives peacefully, harmoniously, and joyfully. Moreover, humans treat animals and plants kindly, in order to maintain the peace of the biological chain. There should also be a work-life balance environment for people to enjoy leisure time instead of just working.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, "Harmony Oasis" is a utopia that I have always longed for. If there is an opportunity to allow me to create a new world, this would be my ideal society and way of life. It would be a beautiful, conflict-free paradise!
